Christine van Rooy’s expertise in hospitality design is rooted in her multifaceted experience working both in and on restaurants, as well as her advanced education in Interior Architectural Design. This unique combination has given her a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of the hospitality industry and how people interact with and in their surroundings.
Christine has dedicated her career to creating unforgettable hotel, restaurant, and bar experiences. With experience completing projects in several countries, she brings a global perspective and an uncompromising attention to detail to every project.
As the co-founder and managing principal of VANROOY design, she oversees technical details, construction management, client interaction, project management, team coordination and quality control. Her meticulous approach ensures each project is executed seamlessly, on time, and within budget. Christine’s award-winning designs, international travel for research and inspiration, mentorship programs, and frequent speaking engagements have established her as a respected, sought-after authority in the hospitality design industry.
Gerardus (Jerry) van Rooy
CO-FOUNDER, DESIGNER DIRECTOR, AND VISIONARY
Jerry’s early career working with renowned furniture and lighting manufacturers refined his detail-oriented approach, cultivating a profound appreciation for superior craftsmanship and precision engineering. His experience designing and building custom furniture and lighting for most of their projects has further honed his love for handcrafted heirlooms and all things machined. As the design director and visionary behind VANROOY design, Jerry has redefined the hospitality experience for countless hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs for major brands throughout the US and Canada.
His success stems from this relentless pursuit of creating spaces that evoke a powerful sense of place. By immersing himself in the psychology of design, conducting extensive market research, and performing rigorous user studies, Jerry builds the foundation for experiences that captivate guests while redefining the boundaries of hospitality design. His innovative concepts and inspired designs have become the signature of VANROOY design’s success.
