Originally opened as Romer Waikiki at The Ambassador, this hotel has since evolved into The Ambassador Hotel of Waikiki – A Hilton Tapestry Collection, while staying true to its local roots and soulful spirit. Nestled among the high-rises of Waikiki, we reimagined a 1968 icon into a layered, story-driven stay—one that welcomes sun-chasers, surfers, and seasoned locals alike.
Lava rock-lined lobby walls ground the design in its volcanic setting, while a curated gallery of local artists infuses the space with vibrant cultural expression. We embraced the building’s midcentury grit, softening it with lush textures, bold color moments, and a touch of modern polish. Indoor-outdoor transitions, cozy lounge pockets, and sensory-rich materials bring a relaxed rhythm to the guest experience.
It’s not just a hotel—it’s a neighborhood hub, a soulful time capsule, and a heartfelt slice of aloha, updated for today and designed to last.

FLOOR PLAN - LOBBY
A sincere thank you for all your work on the Ambassador. It was a long and bumpy journey to get to where we are today. You guys were brought in at an unusual time with unusual circumstances, but you were there every step of the way till the end.
I know it hasn’t been easy and a host of factors contributed to that. But, its open, it looks amazing and in large part thanks to you guys and your teams steadfast efforts. I really appreciate it.
